ABOUT BB
HISTORY
Before BB, Alessia Lightbell owned Red Champions. Both clubs share the establishment date of June 2nd. At the time, RC was the longest-running dressage club in North America, having run for over four years. Simplified Dressage saw its early development in 2016, though the bulk of it happened in RC's day. Many philosophies and systems from RC are also similar to those in BB. That said, BB is not a rebrand of RC, it is evolved, with a new identity and many improvements and additions!
GOALS & VALUES
First and foremost, BB is a family inclusive to all. Monarchs of all identities can find a home in BB, and we reject no one on the basis of gender, race, neurodivergence, disability, being lgbtqia+, or other characteristics. We also care deeply about the mental health of all Monarchs.
BB was created to be a space where our members could be themselves and have fun doing dressage at a high level. Our goal as a dressage club is to explore the possibilities of dressage, perform unique and precise routines using the SDM, and enrich the community with the unique perspective that the SDM provides!

Each week, we host a variety of activities, including events/games and dressage practice. We have multiple kinds of practice, including improv, experimentation, commanding, lessons on a main topic, routine work, and review.
Practices are generally separated by rank when we have beginners in the club (usually, during the trial period) and when we're preparing for routines (separate practices for the kaleidoscope vs. others), but much of our time is spent with all events open to the full club.
The times and days at which activities start shift each week depending on host & attendee availability, but always start between 6:00 and 10:00 pm eastern time (usually between 7:00 and 9:00). Activities generally last one hour and include a 5-10 minute break at the halfway point.
